When my husband and I decided this past January to sell our home on the Outer Banks and relocate out of state, we knew the chips were stacked against us so to speak. Having bought our fisrt home in the real estate boom a few years ago, we knew that selling our home and moving our three children would take a-lot of hard work and thinking outside the box and we wanted an sales agent that would see past the obstacles and get the job done.
In my first phone converstation with John I told him we were willing to be creative and do whatever it took to sell our house. He made it very clear that he was looking out for our best interest and he wanted to make sure that we came out of the deal without losing everything that we had worked so hard for. However, with the plunging real estate values at the time, it seemed as though nothing short of a miracle would put a "SOLD" sign on our house.
Through a series of conversations with our lender, John was able to negotiate a "short sale " on our home and close the deal. Despite the articles that I had read that such a deal was drawn out and difficult, we closed right on time with no hassle. Not only were we thrilled with the outcome, but our closing attorney actaully commented that we were very lucky to have the reached the deal through such an aggressive realtor.
We love the Outer Banks, we miss the sand, and our children proudly tell everyone in our new town that they are "from the beach" In my conversation with John on the day of closing, I told him to call me if he ever came across a great deal on a little vacation home there. He is the only agent we would dream of working with on the beach. Not only do we know a great realtor on the Outer Banks, but we now have a great new friend.
